1. Our approach
BPNet Games is designed to collect and retain only information reasonably useful for operating its games, accounts, community features, security, and administration. BPNet does not sell personal information and does not use third-party advertising networks.
2. BPNet services covered by this policy
This policy applies to bpnet.ca, BPNet accounts and profiles, BPNet Messenger, leaderboards and Arcade Score, and related BPNet game subdomains including PRISMPOUR, EXOTIBBLES, and AQUASORT. Future BPNet games that use the same platform may also be covered by this policy unless stated otherwise.
3. Information you provide
- Username and email address used to create and manage a BPNet account.
- Password, stored as a cryptographic password hash rather than readable plain text.
- Profile choices such as avatar, status message, bio, favourite game, visibility settings, and similar optional information.
- Friend requests, blocks, reports, moderation requests, and account preferences.
- Messages, direct messages, images, GIFs, or other content you voluntarily submit through BPNet Messenger.
- Information you send when contacting BPNet by email or another support channel.
4. Gameplay and leaderboard information
BPNet and individual games may store information needed to provide gameplay, syncing, anti-abuse checks, achievements, and leaderboards, including:
- Game progress, current level, scores, best scores, moves, run duration, completion status, achievements, rewards, and similar game state.
- Game-specific metadata used to validate a result or understand how a run was completed.
- Submission identifiers and verification status such as Verified, Flagged, or Rejected.
- Arcade Score calculations and per-game best records.
- Administrative corrections or audit records associated with score integrity.
5. Messenger and community information
BPNet Messenger may process room membership, presence status, messages, direct-message participants, uploads, timestamps, moderation warnings, reports, sanctions, and related records needed to operate and secure the service.
BPNet Messenger and direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Do not use Messenger to send passwords, financial information, government identifiers, highly sensitive personal information, or anything you would not want stored on a normal web service.
Messages or uploads may be reviewed where reasonably necessary for user reports, abuse prevention, moderation, troubleshooting, security, or legal compliance.
6. Technical information
BPNet may automatically process technical information such as:
- IP address, timestamps, requested pages or endpoints, HTTP status, browser or user-agent details, referring page, and server error information.
- First-party session cookies and identifiers used to authenticate accounts and protect sessions.
- Browser local storage used for guest progress, game settings, sound preferences, queued score-sync information, or other local functionality.
- Security and abuse-prevention information reasonably necessary to detect suspicious or invalid requests.
7. Analytics
BPNet currently uses self-hosted Matomo analytics on portions of the portal and may use similar privacy-conscious analytics on BPNet games. Analytics may process technical information such as page views, referring pages, browser/device characteristics, timestamps, and approximate network information. Analytics are used to understand site usage, diagnose problems, and improve BPNet — not to build advertising profiles.
8. How we use information
Information may be used to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, recover, and administer BPNet accounts.
- Save and sync game progress and verified scores.
- Display profiles, achievements, game history, Arcade Score, and leaderboards.
- Operate Messenger, presence, rooms, direct messages, friends, invitations, notifications, blocks, and reports.
- Moderate abusive behaviour and investigate cheating, fraud, security incidents, or technical failures.
- Perform backups, database maintenance, score repairs, migrations, and service administration.
- Understand aggregate usage and improve games and platform features.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations or respond to lawful requests.
9. Public information
Your username may appear publicly on BPNet leaderboards, including when your current leaderboard score is zero. Depending on your profile settings and feature use, your avatar, status message, achievements, Arcade Score, verified game history, favourite game, or other profile information may also be visible to other users.
Messages posted in public game rooms or the BPNet Lounge are visible to other participants in those rooms. Do not use a username, profile field, or public message to disclose information you do not want others to see.
10. Cookies and browser storage
BPNet uses first-party cookies or similar session storage for essential functions such as sign-in, CSRF/security protection, and maintaining your authenticated session across BPNet subdomains. Individual games may also use browser local storage for guest progress, preferences, and retry queues. BPNet does not use these technologies for targeted advertising.
11. Service providers and disclosure
BPNet does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate BPNet, such as hosting, database, backup, email, analytics, security, or optional donation providers. We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, investigate abuse or fraud, protect users, or protect the security and integrity of BPNet.
12. Retention
Different records may be retained for different periods. Account and core gameplay records may be retained while an account remains active or while needed to operate leaderboards and game history. Chat messages, uploads, logs, backups, moderation records, and audit records may be retained for operational, security, moderation, backup, or legal purposes and may later be deleted or anonymized.
Deletion from the live service may not immediately remove information from backups or security records. Backup copies are normally removed as those backups rotate out of retention.
13. Security
BPNet uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to a small independent web service, including password hashing, HTTPS, server-side sessions, access controls, CSRF protection, signed game integrations, score verification, and administrative audit logging. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
14. Access, correction and deletion requests
You may contact BPNet to ask about personal information associated with your account, request correction of inaccurate account information, or request deletion where applicable. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Certain records may be retained where reasonably necessary or permitted for security, fraud prevention, moderation history, legal compliance, backup integrity, or recordkeeping.
15. Account and leaderboard corrections
Administrators may correct score submissions, leaderboard caches, account status, or related records where necessary to repair errors, cheating, duplicate submissions, migrations, or other integrity problems. Administrative actions may be recorded in an audit log for accountability and troubleshooting.
16. Children and minors
BPNet is a general-audience casual gaming service and is not designed specifically for young children. If you are under the age at which you can legally consent to the collection or use of personal information where you live, you should use BPNet with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information inappropriately, contact BPNet so the situation can be reviewed.
17. International access
BPNet is operated from Canada but may be accessed internationally. Information may be processed or stored in locations where BPNet’s hosting or other service providers operate. Privacy protections may differ between jurisdictions.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BPNet adds games, community functions, administration tools, analytics, service providers, or other features. The current version will be posted here with an updated date.
